Evri boosts benefits to attract 9,000 new workers for peak season

As the peak delivery season approached in 2023, Evri faced the challenge by hiring 5,000 additional workers. This year, anticipating an even greater surge in demand, they started a major recruitment drive to hire 9,000 new workers. This initiative was supported by a strategic partnership with Onsi, enhancing their couriers' benefits package.

The logistics industry, particularly the parcel delivery sector, faces intense pressure during peak seasons. According to industry reports, e-commerce sales have been growing annually by around 15%, amplifying the need for efficient delivery solutions. Evri's proactive approach in addressing these demands is a testament to their commitment to operational excellence

Evri needed to manage increased delivery volumes during the upcoming peak season starting September 2024, recruit a large number of workers in a competitive market, and ensure the retention of couriers through improved working conditions and benefits.

Evri introduced a comprehensive benefits package through Onsi, providing digital healthcare, mental health support, and discounts at major supermarkets and fuel stations.

Evri launched a widespread recruitment campaign to attract 9,000 new workers and implemented the new benefits package for both existing and new couriers. Evri worked with Onsi to ensure that couriers were aware of their new benefits, and well communicated with. This included:

  • Onsi sending registration communications to Evri couriers

  • Information included on Evri's recruitment website

  • Co-branded landing page and email communications

  • Co-branded Onsi app experience

Conclusion

Evri's strategic partnership with Onsi and the introduction of enhanced benefits is a strategic decision in the recruitment and retention of a large seasonal workforce. At Onsi, we have a vision of a world of work where everyone wins. Being able to provide Evri couriers with benefits to protect their physical and financial wellbeing is a core part of our mission.

We are delighted to welcome Evri to Onsi and looking forward to our partnership.
